The Pelham Youth Hockey Association will hold tryouts for its 2010-2011 season Mite (2002/2003/2004s), Squirt (2000/2001s), Pee Wee (1998/1999s), and Bantam (1996/1997s) teams at the following dates/times:


Sunday April 18:

Mites: 9:35 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
Squirts: 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Pee Wees: 4:55 p.m. - 5:55 p.m.
Bantams: 6:05 p.m. - 7:05 p.m.

Sunday April 25:

Mites: 9:35 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
Squirts: 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Pee Wees: 4:55 p.m. - 5:55 p.m.
Bantams: 6:05 p.m. - 7:05 p.m.

The purpose of the Mite evaluations is to tentatively select teams for each of the three tiers of the proposed Soundshore Mite cross-ice league, and the year group 2002 players for the Mite full-ice team. Those selections will be confirmed in mid-September when pre-season practices begin.

Please register for the tryouts online here not later than April 15. The cost is $85 per player.

In preparation for the tryouts, the association will be giving a checking clinic for returning and rising Pee Wees and second-year Squirts on Monday, April 5, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 8, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Coach Jeff Hurd will be coordinating the clinic, and will be assisted by Coaches Chris Reilly, Stu McLean, Gary Rothschild, and other Pelham coaches. The cost per player will be $30 for both sessions, which will be collected at the clinic.  If your skater is a 1998, 1999, or 2000 birth year and will be a Pee Wee or second-year Squirt in the spring or fall, this is an excellent opportunity to learn proper checking techniques and prepare them for Pee Wee hockey.
